Online and phone scams are on the rise with populations in Northwest DC, Suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia being especially targeted. Scam victims are good honest people taken by experts. The only reason many of us haven’t been scammed is because the scammers haven’t found your triggerYET.
This presentation provides information and case studies to learn how to protect yourself from scammers. Discussion items include:


• Need For Cyber Scam Awareness
• Common Types of Scams
• Phone Scams
• Phishing/Smishing/Vishing
• Pop-ups
• Creating Strong Passwords
• "Too Good To Be True" Online Shopping

Questions and sharing of scams attendees have encountered is encouraged as part of course discussion.
