657: The Novels of Jane Austen

Thursday
11:45 - 1:15
Starting September 28
In-Person

If it's been awhile since you picked up one of Jane Austen's novels, or if you would like to read Jane Austen for the first time, please do join us. We will read four of Jane Austen's six completed novels in this order: Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, and Persuasion, spending two weeks on each one. Our emphasis will be on her elegance and humor, but we will also talk about her historical context, and the reasons for her high place in the western canon of literature.
