Virtual Tour of Rome, Italy: Cinema and Food

Join us for another great offering from Italian tour company, Casa Mia. Our instructor will be Eleonora Baldwin, an American-born and Italia- raised TV celebrity, bilingual journalist, and culinary connoisseur. Eleonora will show us iconic spots in the Eternal City that over the years have been used as film locations for such movies as The Bicycle Thief, Roman Holiday, La Dolce Vita, and others. She will take us on a virtual walk to see where famous scenes were filmed, learn where the directors stayed and their favorite restaurants, and “meet” the people who knew the actors, including locals who were extras on screen. She will also discuss some of the foods portrayed in these films, allowing a glimpse into the times and cultures portrayed in these movies.

  The cutoff for the event is Monday, June 28 at 8:00 AM or 300 registrants, whichever comes earlier.
