966: PDQ Joyce

February 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
1:45 PM - 3:15 PM
Online

We will discuss and read aloud an abridged version of Ulysses consisting of the script of highlights previously used in 2016 for an OLLI Bloomsday reading (attached to home page of website at https://sites.google.com/site/bloomsdaybyolli/home/bloomsday---2017). Bloomsday is on June 16, the day that Ulysses took place that is celebrated as a holiday by James Joyce enthusiasts. The script represents about 12% of the book. We will coordinate the course with a celebration of Joyce’s birthday on Tuesday, Feb. 2. This study group should provide a good introduction to Ulysses for those who have not read the book, and a varied selection of rich Joycean prose and an opportunity for discussion for partisans.
