Rodin: Evolution of a Genius
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, VA

This exhibition features nearly 200 works by the greatest sculptor of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Revealing the evolving output of this genius of sculpture, the exhibition examines his techniques, materials, models and assistants, and explores the extraordinary working process behind some of his best known works. There will also be a docent-led tour of the new McGlothlin Collection of American Art focusing on pieces from the Gilded Age to the Ash Can School.

  • Meet at 7:45 am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 Garfield Street N.W.
  • Free parking at St. Sophia
  • Bus departs at 8:00 am in front of the church on Garfield St. (across from St. Albans)
  • Attend 10:00 am timed entry to Rodin exhibit
  • Bring a bag lunch. (VMFA’s café requires reservations and time will be limited.)
  • Arrive back in DC around 5:00 pm
  • Minimum of 50 attendees.
  • Cost: $50. Make checks payable to “OLLI.”  No refunds.
